Hey @HeerJeet, you seem to have strong opinions about NK..Being the expert you are, can you please point to a piece of concrete evidence (beyond mere rhetoric) clearly demonstrating a "growing rift" between SK and US? Last time I checked, Moon Jae-in agreed to redeploy THAAD...

Has US/SK military cooperation diminished in any meaningful way? Have diplo relations suffered any serious setbacks? Polling within SK indicates that population supports stronger military cooperation with US. Younger SKs overwhelmingly support THAAD, despite China's objections

Can you point to anything other than words, rhetoric, soundbites to indicate that there's a "growing rift" between SK and US? Or are you just making things up?

"other than words" is a strange request since we're talking about a diplomatic dispute

What exactly is the diplo dispute? Do you actually think that diplomacy is out of context soundbites from MPs? What do South Korean diplos to US say? What does the American delegation say? What exactly are you talking about? reunification spectacle at the beginning of the games?

You should be able to use google yourself. But start reading this article and then read other accounts of what is happening betweeen USA & South Korea: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/josh-rogin/wp/2018/02/08/the-united-states-and-south-korea-now-openly-disagree-on-north-korea/?utm_term=.b5c6852aac58 …

Great op-ed. Key words: op-ed. You do know that Tillerson's dipo maneuvering behind the scenes and Pence's posturing aren't mutually exclusive, right? Didn't Obama negotiate with the Taliban while droning the hell out of safe havens?

Have US-SK officials said anything explicitly about each other to indicate rift? strong language for one of the strongest alliances in region. I don't know if Moon Jae-in choosing to talk w/ NK reps while Tillerson, DoS seek diplo opening and WH/Pence posture indicates "rift"

I already gave you one article. Google is very easy to use. You should do some reading about what's happening.
