Aha! My favorite (counter)argument: What about? A read hearing, irrelevant to what you or Jon claim. Second, we would have to answer the question whether working for the government or "outlets that receive gov. funding" is service to all or a benefit (to those who work for them)

Well, no. Considering Mr Kay was touting the importance of private school for "productive employment" when his own employment has largely (all?) been funded by Canadian government subsidy calls into question the idea of "productive" employment.
