Contrast the concluding sentiment of peacetime's Saving Private Ryan with wartime's Fury.

Excellent work. The art deftly underscores Hayes' diagnosis.

Great piece. Can't wait to read their comic on Reconstruction and Jim Crow.

This was amazing - more of this please! Glad to know SOMEONE on MSNBC hasn't forgotten about centrist/neocon failures of the past.

I have to say I disagree with the assessment of Band of Brothers. There’s a lot of brutality and ambiguity in there, particularly when you get to the occupation phase. Also have to point out that Flags of Our Fathers is explicitly about the harmful effects of hero worship

i'm watching through band of brothers for the first time and there's some glorification early on, but definitely more nuance than saving private ryan and the like, i agree.
