Like many people, I've been trying to figure out if the Trump admin is seriously considering a preventive strike on North Korea or is bluffing & just wants Kim to think they are. If it were serious, one wld see real dissent from within the system (esp DoD)-- damaging leaks, warnings, etc. A strike on Korea could, likely would, be catastrophic. Unthinkable that it would not generate more debate than we're seeing currently, esp from DoD. 2/3

Paradoxically, the fact that everyone seems to be on board may be evidence that it's a ruse. Easier to agree to go along with a bluff on basis it provides leverage for diplomacy. The dissent is the dog that's not barking here. 3/3

This sounds right and I would add that the North Korean, so far, are acting like it's a bluff. My worry is if there is a misunderstanding.
