Hey guys the “superauthentic messyhead from-the-heart, passionate, spontaneous upstart candidate” role *isn’t available for women.* It’s the Goldilocks Rule. We’re eternally too cold (experienced, canny therefore ambitious & compromised) or too hot (rando, lightweight, no cred.)

You guys are basically talking about white women
-
We’re not. Haley isn’t white & neither is Kamala Harris & they both face these types of issues, although of course they’re inflected by race as well.

That’s where the gender norming limits the Rs. They will vote for R women, but less R women will even imagine having the prerogative to run.

Dems tried to personally destroy Sarah Palin, Condolezza Rice, Fiorina and any other woman that held conservatism as a political ideology.
-
That never happened. Ever. Hell you can look at how Fiorina was treated when she ran against a dem and when she ran against a rep. The democrat criticized her failures at HP, the Republican said she was ugly and that no one would vote for someone with a face like that.
