So why did Trump go ballistic on Wolff even though it's a counterproductive move? Partially a matter of temper. He can't help it.

Other big factor is that early stories from book were Bannon-focused. That's clearly a sore spot with Trump.

Reminds me of the bit in "Shadow of a Doubt" where Uncle Charlie takes such elaborate efforts to keep his hosts from seeing the news story about the search for the "Merry Widow killer" (which no one had any reason to link to him!) that naturally his niece grows suspicious
