True story: @jonkay is not so dense that he doesn't understand you can oppose both anti-Semitism & transphobia. This is willful obtuseness. https://twitter.com/jonkay/status/936364910476480512 …

Strawman. He is criticising the hypocrisy of having hypersensitivity over ‘microaggressions’ while engaging in textbook (and much more sinister) prejudice.

It's easy to see other people's concern as "hypersensitivity" and your own battles as fights against "textbook prejudice"

Apparently, it’s also easy to engage in false equivalences. (And I did not describe trans concerns as hypersensitive.)

I don't see any other way to read your tweet.

Hypersensitivity about being microaggressive.

But Kay's original example of hypersensitivity is specifically trans concern. Hard not to read both Kay and you as being dismissive of that.

No I’m distinguishing between the offender and the offended. One can be hypersensitive to causing offence, which in this case gives rise to the hypocrisy the subject of Kay’s original tweet. I’m not referring to the sensitivities of the hypothetical offended party.

The pretence here is that trans people aren't part of the debate & aren't the ones registering offense at misidentification.

It’s a question of focus, not exclusion. The focus is upon the one causing offence, not the one registering offence (be it a trans person or a Jew as the case may be).
