It did work. Her numbers in blue counties and suburban counties were better than Obama's. The problem was Berner defections from the coalition due to the influence of Russian active measures + Comey.

She really is the confounding variable in trying to learn any broad lessons from 2016. Did she lose because a NeverTrump coalition is fundamentally unworkable, or did the right’s decades of built up hatred just preclude her personally from pulling it off?

What was the policy pitch to the moderate GOP? AFAICT the pitch to those voters was "I'm not Trump; vote for me." No policy inducement.

Serious foreign policy with gobs of experience. Somebody who will talk with management & labor without demonizing or worshiping either. Serious policies that actually address Trump voter issues. Never holding a grudge despite, you know...Ya, nothing at all.
