Has anyone written on how the history of the Fantastic Four in the 1960s maps on to the break-up of the New Deal coalition?

Post 1965, Fantastic Four becomes much more fractured a group with on-again-off-again coalitions. Just as New Deal coalition fracturing.

Is this a metaphor for Black/Jewish strained relations in the late 60's? Schism between Old Left and New?pic.twitter.com/N59W1dfBHz

Intersting. Implication from the single frame is that The Thing calls Black Panther that without knowing him. The only thing TT knows is that BP is from Africa, and immediately makes that cultural reference to Africa.

This arc is also a good illustration of Kirby and Lee sometimes at cross purposes. Grimm interrupts T'Challa to make fun of his story but it's also Lee's irony vs some of Kirby's imagery.pic.twitter.com/CzJtbIrxd7
