I do think there are naive liberals who support charter schools not for this reason, but that they don't see it is a huge indictment on them

teachers' unions have always a mixed lot. Unions tend to be the most conservative of the working class movements.

problem is that teachers' unions have never been open to the community- some POC choose charter schools for their kids.
