As an immigrant myself, I really hate the use of immigrants as human shields to deflect critiques of anti-Black racism.

Many immigrants climbed up the ladder via menial/sweatshop labor. This wasn't closed to anyone, to the best of my knowledge.

I would say economists tend to be properly skeptical of the strong conclusions often drawn from the anecdotes we call "history", yes.

Noah's point I believe is the arrival of a man from abroad doesn't worsen nor remove the effects of racism.

If immigrants aren't "stealing jobs" as their local consumption provides too then they can't be stealing a black (nor white) Americans job.
