@HeerJeet I loved your Jack Kirby article, but the subhead (which I assume you didn't write) calls him a cartoonist, which is incorrect.

Wow. I didn't know that, but as a fan of his and the son and nephew of magazine and newspaper cartoonists, I disagree with that description.

It's fairly normal for comic book and graphic novel artists to think of themselves as cartoonists -- I know many that do.

That surprises me, but I don't know any. I wouldn't even call Hal Foster a cartoonist, although Prince Valiant is a comic strip.

The usage I'm thinking of is something like: cartoonist is someone who draws narrative that is reproduced mechanically.
