The memo was pure drek but this isn't the proper response. Firing people for their ideas should be opposed.https://twitter.com/mathewi/status/894734566174404608 …

Jeet he fuckin' torpedoed their reputation as a good place for engineers to come work overnight, what were they supposed to do?
-
Yup. On that alone, he basically set untold millions of dollars on fire.

To say that memo by itself isn't fireable doesn't mean there shouldn't be consequences: lots of remedies short of firing available.
-
And *you* are offering commentary without knowing *all* of the facts, including any other actions. Why?

He published a memo to everyone in his company declaring that his coworkers were biologically inferior.
-
That's an "action". People have to work with him. They have to sit in meetings with him. They have to give him instructions & get results.

I think that distributing the memo internally and trying to build support for it qualify as actions.

Manifestos are at least in part a codified inventory of behavioral norms from the author's perspective. Also, he _wrote and shared_ the doc.
