Huntington's exclusion of Latin America from "The West" is bizarre. And I see no reason for Beinart to accept it. It's weird.

Do most Americans think of Mexico -- let alone Guatemala -- as part of "the West"? I doubt it.

Also, Latin american culture is descended from Spanish culture,so just as much "the west" as the US is, if not even more 'Latin' then we are
