In general I'd say Dems are in good shape for 2018 given swing in special elections, main issue going forward is which voters to hunt for

So they should have had a special election in a different state then?

Getting Obama 12 voters back could win them the WH in 2020. But that isn't enough to win the House.
-
Dems need to do about five points better than Republicans nationally in order to have a shot at taking the House.

Please give Ossoff a break. That’s ALL he had to work with. This was a district carved out for Rs. The runoff was an oppty. We took a shot.

Democratic consultants dream of a party winning over Panera Bread eating Sunbelt suburbanites. A dubious strategyhttps://twitter.com/JStein_Vox/status/876932280358404096 …
-
I think this is the root of the issue: the consultant class is fixated on attracting people like themselves.

Little to suggest that they haven't already. They are obviously winning over voters overall in these districts.

top dems would rather squeak through a majority with centrists than try to win in a landslide alongside leftists
-
A lot of those people that lean left (young) don't vote. Key is focusing on turnout. Disaffected Rs can also be turned.
