Which is not ideal, but I'm okay with it, because I'm a conservative who doesn't think pure democracy is any way to run a country.

I'd modify this slightly & say impeachment is always both political & legal act. Congress has to balance those two factors to get decision

I know. Same logic applies to 25th Amendment remedy: has to defensible both politically and legally.
