I think the logic of ignoring or rebutting and/or protesting, rather than preventing, speech you don't like is sound and should be defended.

Not convinced ignoring them is a good strategy. When has ignoring racism/sexism ever worked? Doesn't it just let it fester and then grow?

I'm a Millian (at least as a starting point) but I don't recall Mill accounting for asymmetry in what speech is being offered up/protected.

Threatening to block speech, rather than rebutting it, just turns the target into a free speech martyr, makes people more curious as to what
