Jeet Heer added,
Bannon's script about a Muslim take-over of USA, by the way, sounds like The Camp of Saints updated & Americanizedhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/bannon-film-outline-warned-us-could-turn-into-islamic-states-of-america/2017/02/03/f73832f4-e8be-11e6-b82f-687d6e6a3e7c_story.html?utm_term=.4f34d3f57196 …
Speaking of reactionary French literature, I'm surprised their isn't more attention to Houellebecq as a prophet & precursor of the alt-right
To clarify a point, some people read earlier tweet as being critical of Houellebecq, when my intent was to argue for his value.
What Houellebecq makes clear, in way only fiction can, is psycho-sexual roots of alt-right: its origins in losers of sexual neo-liberalism
What we see in Houellebecq is intersection of tech, incels, misogyny, economic displacement and xenophobia to produce new loser caste.
Houellebecq's next novel should be done in nothing by Pepe memes.
