You know people with inherited wealth still pay for lunch? And that someone earned it? And that helps the economy?https://twitter.com/heerjeet/status/834839463612207104 …

Someone getting money they didn't earn based on good luck of inheritance is no different than getting it as welfare.

The notion that a wealthy kid gets money through luck is similar to thinking one gets ones genes through luck.

You know your genetic inheritance has chance elements to it, but isn’t luck right? You got what you got because of parents.

Unless you are a Hindu who believes in Karmic reincarnation, it's absurd to think that genetic or financial inheritance is earned.

Genes are not earned, but they are not “luck.” Money is earned, planning is done, and then you inherit it. Not luck either.

Stop pretending your Dad leaving you stuff wasn’t “earned.” Your Dad earned it and part of what he earned was the right to give it

No such "right" exists. States can and do set inheritance taxes.

Inheritances taxes show nothing. I have a right to liberty, but the state modifies this. Bad argument.

There are no rights that exist apart from the state.

Our readers should note that being able to give the fruit of your work to your kids is not a “right” to @HeerJeet.

So do humans have a right to abort their kids, but not leave them the fruit of their labor?
