Those comments seem divorced from reality but to me more explicable, given political tribalism and psychological rationalization.

I think in some cases, like ACA repeal, some congressional Republicans *may* be the intermediaries between people in the streets and Trump.

Or perhaps better to say, they may be more receptive to pressure from the streets/town halls/etc.

yes perhaps for solitary issues. I can see building on that to drive wedges later. But no R is about-facing.

I don't think "people in the streets" will stop him. He'll just gin up counter-protests, claim that Bogeyman Soros is funding opposition.

agreed, but imo trump himself is not mark. Congress/other R's are. Trump is lost cause.
