Scorsese hasn't made a good movie in more than 2 decades but I have high hopes for "Silence." Am I delusional?

Perhaps, but Daniel Day Lewis makes the film good to me. Maybe you can argue Scorsese gets no credit for that.

Gangs of New York feels a hell of a lot more relevant now than it did in 2002. But post-2006 Scorsese has been rough.

Maybe, but it's not like the film lacks from DDL scenes. One of his best.
