      1. Leaving aside whether they'd work (they won't), a convention coup or bribing Trump to drop out are both morally wrong.

      2. Trump is terrible but he's won GOP nomination fair & square. A coup or bribe would destroy settled democratic norms.

      3. Given Trump is supported by plurality of GOP primary voters, there's only two proper endings: drops out in humiliation or loses in Nov.

      5. Trump being soundly defeated in November is only good outcome: it would make American democracy stronger. Other options wouldn't.

      6. The GOP had their chance to stop Trump. They failed. Now it's up to the Dems & general electorate. They'll do the job.

      7. Trump is a real test of American democratic norms. My advice: keep calm & have faith in the general electorate..

ehhhh… threat of Trump is not nec. in winning the election, but the politics he mobilizes that occurs and stays on win or lose.

And, if that is the case, then I don’t think that ‘sit back and let the electorate do its thing’ is sufficient.

.@HeerJeet I'm curious: would your opinion on this be different if you thought that Trump was about 50/50 to win the general?
