      1. A few thoughts on how Trumpism could triumph even if Trump loses.

      2. Successful candidacy bread imitators. GOP is becoming Trumpized, no matter who wins. Rubio & Cruz now are mini-me Trumps.

      3. Surely in Congress & Senate, we'll see more and more pols, not just GOP either, adopt Trumpian rhetoric & parts of his agenda.

      4. But there is a more disturbing possibility we have to consider. The likely eventuality of a Trumpian president.

      5. As I repeatedly said, I don't think, barring an unforeseen catastrophe, Trump can win the presidency. He's too toxic.

      6. But Trump losing this year doesn't preclude a future candidate crafting a streamlined, more effective Trumpian campaign.

      7. America has a 2 party system. Given right economic circumstances, eventually GOP will regain presidency. Possibly with a Trumpian.

      9. Trump's anti-Mexican talk was a double-edged sword. Made him a star to GOP but will cost him in general. A future Trump will be smarter

      10. The Next Trump could be wilier about xenophobia -- pick groups small enough not to have blowback. Could go far.

@HeerJeet FWIW, in the exit polls of primary states thus far, anti-Muslim sentiment is stronger than anti-"illegal"(Mexican) sentiment.

@HeerJeet A Clinton presidency could actually make it easier for the next , even worse, Trump, to get elected. There's no way around it.

@HeerJeet drop the wall, Mexico schtick, keep the Muslim bits. Kinda like prioritizing antisemitism over feeling superior to Slavic people.
