      1. People are writing articles about how Trump could win the presidency. This is one of the best ones:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/how-donald-trump-becomes-president_us_56cb5429e4b0928f5a6c9ead?section=politics …

      2. My position, since last fall, is Trump has a shot at the GOP nomination but won't be president, barring an unforeseen catastrophe.

      3. Reason Trump won't be president is he's massively polorizing figure even with the GOP, and much more outside the GOP.

      4. Trump has a strong base inside GOP that will follow him to their death, but also many who can't stand him.

      5. To put it in specific terms: if Trump is nominee, could two living GOP presidents George H.W. Bush & George W. Bush vote for him?

      6. There will be a chunk of GOP electorate who think Trump is unfit to be president. They might not vote for Clinton but could stay home.

      7. That Huffington Post article speculates Trump would win states in upper mid-west: 2 states GOP hasn't won since 1988, 1 since 1984.

      8. The broader national demographics are this; every presidential election the electorate is 2 percentage points less white than before.

          9. Romney in 2012 got 59% of the white vote and lost. So Trump would need to make up both the loss & increase in non-white vote: say, 63%

          10. So Trump would need to win a Reagan 1984 style landslide among whites, but is a much more polorizing figure than Reagan.

@HeerJeet Probably very unhealthy that non whites vote as bloc votes but we don't know how motivated they'll be to vote for Clinton.
