Ezra Levant is a garbage human being and The Rebel is a garbage website but both still deserve journalist status & all that entails.
Levant/Rebel are crap but there needs to be a wide leeway in who is considered a journalist.

Argument Rebel is "just a blog" makes no sense since, as newspapers die, blogs & websites will be larger part of media.

To say Levant/Rebel too rubbishy to be journalists is to have a naively high opinion of journalism. Lots of rubbish out there.
