1. I'm going to tweet a little about the Heritage event & racial polorization in USA politics: http://m.washingtonpost.com/opinions/dana-milbank-heritages-ugly-benghazi-panel/2014/06/16/b8bd423c-f5a3-11e3-a606-946fd632f9f1_story.html?hpid=z6 …
2. Basic facts are known: in increasingly racially diverse USA, GOP remains overwhelmingly white while Dems are multi-racial
-
-
3. Story of this racial polorization is usually told (rightly) in big pictures: 1964, Southern Strategy, Reagan's dog whistles, etc.
-
4. But behind the big picture story there is also little stories of micro-aggressions and fending off of non-whites from GOP by the GOP.

@HeerJeet The Ulysses Grant GOP was first multi-racial party. (He *lost* white vote in 1868!) But even their white elite were uncomfortable. -
@HeerJeet Desire by white GOPers in the North to win more "valuable" white voters, was one of the causes that led to end of Reconstruction.
