@jledbetter Sure, but I see that as "the Old Right" as distinct from 1950s New Right. Some overlap but there is something new born in 1950s

@HeerJeet The "Old Right" was not uniformly hard money, nor isolationist at all. These tendencies harden in the '30s, then blossom postwar. -
@jledbetter Agree but I also see something new emerging in 1950s: more intense hatred of moderate/elite GOP (the RINOs).

@HeerJeet Classic change v. continuity frame. I agree '50s turbocharges. But the more I look into '30s, the more continuity I see (+ race). -
@jledbetter Seeds of race are in 1930s (with anti-Elinor Roosevelt sentiment) but really harden in 1948 (with Truman embracing Civil Rights)
