2. Average book takes 8 to 12 hours to read. When reviewing you should ideally be reading slowly, so possibly 16 to 24 hours or more.

3. Sometimes to understand a book you have to go back and read (or re-read) author's earlier work(s).

4. If you review for a newspaper, you are going to get maybe $250 or $300. Magazine review can pay more -- maybe $1,500 or more (but rare).
