Serious question: did any significant conservative politician or intellectual support the sixties Civil Rights Movement **at the time**?
@yeselson For example, Eric Voegelin specifically criticized scientific racism. Albert Jay Nock attacked lynching.

@PaulHRosenberg@yeselson I'd say Voegelin definitely anti-racist. Nock was more situational (and became very anti-Semitic in 1930s).
