One thing that's clear in his biography is that although he was never on the left at all, he was definitely influenced by the Marxist milieu of immigrant New York and it informed how he understood politics. Like Francis he used Marxist analytical categories for reactionary ends.

Well yeah but he was saying that to push a faith in overly simplified first principles in what ultimately was even more mechanistic. A better critique is Soros' idea of reflexivity whose main fault is not recognizing he just reinvented dialectics.

I mean there's no better proof that Rothbard doesn't escape but in fact INCREASES mechanistic analysis than his analysis of pollution. Which the conclusion he comes to is just "it violates the NAP so eliminate it 100%".
