Right, Democratic Party has been for nearly 2 centuries notoriously a loose, baggy party that is hard to keep in line, so it's a bit odd to have a political strategy predicated on that party having strong internal discipline and capable of pushing a consistent message

I think the bigger point is clearly the strategy needs to change…not necessarily to say to reporters who ask about gun control “I can’t hear you. Let’s change the subject to health care”. This is where to learnfrom the pro-life movement; you need to chip away locally…

you need start with background checks and bump stock laws on town and city levels. Maybe even state. And will take a long time. But you need to prepared for the long slog. I think what shor (I think) is saying is sweeping proposals after major shootings don’t change anything
