Do we think there’s a positive correlation between DSCC involvement and a Dem win? Especially in OH?

Obama won Ohio twice, Sherrod Brown had won it three times, and there are multiple Democratic Party affiliated statewide judges.

There has been only 1 candidate win statewide on the Democratic ballot line in the last decade, and that was as an incumbent, by 7%, in a year that was about 15 pts more Democratic than this one is shaping up to be.

Ohio is probably out of reach, but the possibility of winning means it’s worth while to keep the republicans bogged down and force them to fight for it.

Ryan can win it without them, in fact it might help him if they don’t get involved

One thing Howard Dean got right was the 50 state strategy.

Ohio seems like a place where the DSCC overtly helping could backfire, though. Ryan needs to run as "not like those other Dems" to have a chance. I suspect there will be plenty of money from less obviously Dem sources to help Vance spectacularly self-destruct.

From this Ohioan, yep. Tim Ryan is a uniquely good D statewide candidate.

When you shrink the map now you also shrink the map in the future. It’s really hard to show up 5-10 years later with money and be like, “Hey, remember us?”
