Interesting that the distinction is between “liberal” and “right” — I guess we’re just giving up on the specificity of “conservative” since it doesn’t seem to be accurate any more.

I believe their classification includes both "centre right" and "conservative", but they evidently (and correctly in my view) consider the modern Republican Party to be a far-right party more like Fidesz or AfD than the French Republicans or the British Conservative Party.

Yellow is normally for libertarians (or in that direction like Germany's FDP). Black usually means center-right like Christian Democrats.
