A modest proposal: How about: Have 1 vote in Congress on gun control. After it’s defeated, every time there is a mass shooting in a state, a rep or senator from that state who voted against it gets expelled from Congress! And the seat stays empty until next election.

Wow, Judis. I remember his right-wing ideas from In These Times. Like claiming guns are imp for hunting when only 3% of pop hunts or "protecting family and home" when ur at far greater risk of dying from a gun than using it for protection. Really? I just read Judis' essay. It's basically "the squeaky hinge gets oil" theory of political action, advocacy & policy endorsement/rejection. He's not wrong, but it's a banal notion that while not bad, doesn't deserve praise. (Also, some of his assertions need cites.)
