2. Stefanik is a true bellwether of the GOP because her profile used to be that of a moderate, she comes from a district that was blue and still purple (i.e. not deep red like MT Greene's district) and she's fully on board with Trumpist agenda (including QAnon & racism)

3. Important to see the Trumpification as coming in two brands: the true believers (Greene, Gosar, etc.) and the opportunists (Vance, Stefanik). The opportunists are more significant because they show where ambitious people think party is going. Leading indicator.

Just curious--does anyone believe there would be any serious consequences if Republicans came right out and said they refused to condemn the Buffalo shooter and that there need to be more racist shootings going on? And are we months away from that point, or weeks?
