The one thing I agree with Christopher Hitchens on is that it's important to write honest obituaries.https://twitter.com/lahoare/status/1525112344510177280 …
The comparison was in terms of political trajectory, not writing skill. But I'll note that Greenwald has done more real reporting than Hitchens ever did while Hitchens was the better prose stylist.

Given his correspondence with Guccifer 2.0 months after independent journalists discovered it was a Russia intelligence operation might make you want to reconsider whether he was a real reporter as opposed to a real dupe.
-
Hitchens spent his last decade uncritically echoing lies concocted by his allies in the Bush circle, including the lie about WMDs. It's hard to top that.

What reporting? The first article of his that ever appeared in print advised people how to deal with noisy buses. I can see that might have been useful. The second was sex tourism commentary and promotion. Since then - what? One lie after another.

Greenwald mostly slapping his name on the byline of other peoples' work is not "real reporting". Whereas Hitchens was a literal war correspondent and reported from several military conflicts throughout the 70s. The grovelling you do around Greenwald is blatant and grotesque.
