It shouldn't really matter where you stand on abortion. You have to accept that people have a right to peacefully (even if loudly) protest public officials. The move to delegitimize this protest using lies (i.e. Alito's family had to flee) is outrageous

However flawed & limited USA democracy has been, it's long had one great silver lining: robust free speech culture & right to organize & protest. The pushback against protesting at this moment would deny even that, which makes all the other democratic regressions even worse.

In retrospect, the mass movements of the Trump era, peaking with the George Floyd protests, freaked out elites (not just the GOP). What we've seen since has been attempt to put the genie back in the bottle.
