4. In terms of thinking about how Roe caused (or didn't) realignment/polarization, it's important to look beyond partisan politics to religion. Anti-abortion use to be overwhelmingly a Catholic thing (with a few fundy's along). Evangelicals shifted & took over movement.

5. Broadly speaking the divide on abortion went from Catholic/Protestant divide into divide with evangelicals (now dominant) & TradCaths on one side & secular people, mainline Prots and normie Catholics on other. That wasn't because of Roe.
