The only real argument against peacefully protesting outside the homes of Supreme Court justices is a tactical one. It might be counter-productive (or might not be -- who knows). There's no principled reason in a free society not to do it.

In terms of whether this sort of protest (outside homes of SCOTUS justices or politicians) is right move, I think the critics would be on stronger grounds if they offered a counter-strategy.

In the long run, the only political strategy that makes sense is activism to force Dems on state and federal level to vote to codify Roe (and indeed protections beyond Roe). But that's the work of many elections.

Once the actual decision is released, I suspect protests will move on from justices to politicians. Where I think there might be some efficacy.
