I think there may be an underappreciated generalization here, to the effect that the tragedy of the closet is not only that it wrongs the closeted, but that it often prompts them to do wrong to others

I found the article (and
@rossbarkan's critique) fascinating because I grew up in Koch's NYC. Had gay teachers, neighbors, etc, but they were never acknowledged by my parents as being gay, reflecting the general non-acceptance of the day.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
