Taking away people's rights is a serious thing, one that will inevitably produced anger. All the more so in the case of reproductive freedom, a right literally exercised by tens of millions of women in last few decades. Even on week into leak, we're seeing rising anger.

The conservative legal movement's longstanding claim is that overturning Roe is a 𝑚𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 solution: it makes abortion a state issue so NY can be liberal & Mississippi conservative. But that ignores how impossibility of keeping issue within state borders.

Once Roe is overturned, all sorts of inter-state conflicts will bedevil USA: can woman seeking abortion cross state line? Can Plan B & other birth control? There's no reason to think that two sides with firm rights-based claims will let other side do as they please in states.

The way I see it, the attitudes of entitled men like Andrew and Ross is, "Well, once women accept the fact they have no agency or control over their bodies or lives and just settle down, everybody will get back to getting along peachy fine. Like we were in the 1950s or earlier."
-
They're comfortable with this attitude because it will in no way really affect them.

The issue is rights centered jurisprudence, giving effect to the post civil war amendments and the the civil rights era laws. This is what the Right has been fighting from the beginning. Roe is just one example. Overall it’s about voiding rights to return power to white men.

notice that all these "repealing roe will provide harmony" takes are from conservatives who either have no dog in the fight or who are actively pro-life. "easy for you to say," I think is the way the phrase goes
-
Right, it makes things more "harmonious" for them because they win and get what they want
