Sure, most are motivated by policy outcomes. But the outcome they’re motivated by in commenting on Griswold is through Roe. The strongest criticism of Roe’s reasoning starts as a criticism of Griswold, since that’s where the philosophical underpinnings of Roe were established.

What I’m saying is that you can’t infer that someone who criticizes Griswold must necessarily want more restrictive policy on contraception, if you recognize that they might not be judging constitutional protection for contraception purely on whether they like contraception.
