CHOTINER: So you say "Stan Lee never wrote a damn thing." HEER: He didn't come up with the characters, the plots, & the artist provided preliminary dialogue... CHOTINER: But the finished dialogue? HEER: Can we go off the record? CHOTINER: No. HEER: Maybe Lee. CHOTINER: Maybe?

If lee never wrote a damn thing why were the books where he worked with Kirby and Ditko so much better than the ones those two wrote alone?

No, the books Kirby worked on in the 1940s/1950s and 1970s were better than collaboration with Lee. And Ditko's solo work, although not my cup of tea, has some value.

Isn't the fact that you both see a difference evidence that he contributed at least?

I think my imaginary dialogue with Chotiner is meant to indicate something that a good interviewer could easily debunk.

I'm confused because it doesn't seem to be a point you actually believe

I was writing a parody of a Chotiner interview, so it's not meant to be taken literally.

I think I misunderstood the assignment, I was assuming the counterintuitive take would be one you actually have and you're defending it against what you imagine Chotiner would ask
