Congress already has, Jeet. We're waiting on the Senate.
-
The Senate, in its current form, won't. So it's meaningless. So Dems have to run on a plausible path whereby they can get a Senate majority (probably 52 or 53 seats) that will do this.

The impact's not going to be felt at the national level, except for maybe in certain Senate races. It's going to be felt at the state level, since that's where all the legislative action is going to be.

Bet that media pushes Dem leadership to at least somewhat campaign on a federal abortion law. Would bet the decisions causes Biden to go bigger on student loans and dare the courts to stop him, allowing him to run harder against the Court.

You don't think they will?

Manchin won't overturn the filibuster and he won't vote to legalize abortion. Neither with Collins or Murkowski. Sinema will vote to legalize abortion but she won't vote to overturn the filibuster.

I think that to parley this into any sort of mobilization in the states they need most they are going to have to be good at arguing the specific parameters of what they believe abortion rights should entail, instead of falling back on a vague definition of it as a right.
