That’s curious. “Yours in Scouting” (sometimes abbreviated YIS) is a common letter sign-off among leaders in Scouts.
In "A Line Out for a Walk," Joseph Epstein writes about using "Yours in Scouting." He was inspired by Mencken's use of "Yrs in Xt.," the Xt. meaning Christ. "Mencken's relation to Christianity was not so different from mine to scouting." That is: not at all close.
Inspired by Epstein, I used "Yours in Scouting" for a brief period. Nobody ever questioned or remarked on it, which made it less fun.
