Feinstein's defenders suggest she's not the only impaired lawmaker in congress. Which is true but also really bad.https://twitter.com/PhilipWegmann/status/1514544319834828801 …

Pelosi, for one, has seemingly made it her job to prevent the rise of younger female leaders.
-
That's gaslighting.

I agree with you. I still get to feel pissed off at Feinstein getting this treatment when I had to endure fossils like Strom Thurmond, Robert Byrd, etc. For democracy to flourish, we need term limits and a mandatory retirement age.
-
Sigh. No, term limits gives much more power to lobbyists. But yes, a mandatory retirement age may be necessary.

Sometimes I think of a different world where covid hit the US a little earlier and got to DC before they could button up, before there was even the expensive experimental treatments, and the entire dem upper echelon just got wiped out.
-
Dem echelon? That’s an upside down view. There’s an echelon needing a wipeout, but they don’t have D’s by their names. Just think, the whole J6 coup could have been avoided.

Somehow "Strom Thurmond did it so I should be allowed to too" is just not the compelling defense that they think it is.
-
Yeah, that's a major go back and try again.

Plus if they really respected Feinstein, (and her constituents)they would have quietly got her to step down before it became public that she, sadly, is no longer fit to serve. Her condition has been in the news for a while now
