The right vote has far more fragmentation than left. If Zemmour didn't run, Le Pen would have been first by far.

Doubtful. The Communist Party supported Melenchon in 2017. He didn't make it to the second round. This time we can see how weak the other left candidates are. It is not exactly the same situation in the right/far-right.
