JFK nostalgia is so weird, particularly how normies on both sides of the aisle justify it. Obviously Dems think of him as a liberal icon, but a lot of Republicans consider him to be the last good Democrat, before the party went crazy (in their view).

As long as we understand he's dead and his kid is dead too , that's good

I do not live on the same planet as these people. I mean this figuratively, but they may very well believe this literally and that is the problem.

It’s conventional on the right to blame everything on the 60s, on sexuality, authority, drugs—a world upside down. I don’t see it the way they do. But looking at what the generation has morphed into, it’s hard not to agree that something terrible did happen.

The terrifying thing is that these aren't even really boomers - the guy was apparently born the year AFTER the assassination. This is cross-generational crazy

Are they even Boomers? You'd have to be over 70 to actually remember JFK, and they don't look 70. They're the victims of Boomer nostalgia propaganda, its recipients, they don't come by it from firsthand participation in the zeitgeist.

He's 58, so the youngest member of the boomer cohort
