He also called Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton “a maggot-infested man” who “doesn’t deserve to be in the US Senate” because he blocked Obama’s nominee as Ambassador to the Bahamas — in the same interview.

Do you think Cotton's behavior here -- blocking a dying woman from getting a nomination because she's friends with Obama and he wanted to hurt him -- was acceptable? https://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/07/opinion/an-obama-nominees-crushed-hopes.html …pic.twitter.com/R2Rbzez0m5

Very important distinction that this is based solely on her accusation. As is a thing in journalism the last decade is to take a political operative’s word with an axe to grind as absolute gospel truth with no verification.

No, it's not based solely on her accusation. Read the article I linked to: Cotton said this to a reporter.

False. Cotton did not say this to a reporter. Bruni claims Cotton's spokeswoman "did not dispute" the account. Did he even ask her? Because she certainly disputed it when given a platform to do so: https://dailycaller.com/2016/06/07/obama-nominee-waits-years-for-confirmation-vote-dies/ …pic.twitter.com/DSv1nBaKCO

This is a classic non-denial denial since it refutes something that wasn't asserted. Careful readers can draw their own conclusion.
