Jesus Christ, Jeet, stop showing me how stupid the discourse is getting -- it's disheartening.

I fail to understand how this guy in any way represents Ukrainian government.

This guy might as well be trolling, I don't think Ukrainians believe Cyrillic is inherently Russian. Think more before you tweet, Jeet!

The Latin alphabet (Łacinka) for Belarusian was used by some writers and was advocated by some Belarusian Soviet intellectuals in the 1920s (in the 1930s they were denounced as "Polish agents"). But Latynka for Ukrainian had a very feeble existence.https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/ahc-russian-with-latin-alphabet.442145/page-2#post-16920132 …

Lunacharsky, the first Soviet People's Commissar of Education, favored the adoption of the Latin alphabet for all languages of the USSR--including Russian. Seehttps://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/ahc-russian-with-latin-alphabet.442145/page-2#post-16918371 …

Considering Bulgaria a EU and NATO member uses Cycrillic just fine i have no idea why anybody even mentions this. Pure nonsense. By the way Russians didn't even invent Cyrillic . Came from Bulgaria to Ukraine and then to Russia

People need to stop conflating US / North American with "Western" . Nobody in Europe would ever seriously consider that.

Not Ukrainian, can't read Ukrainian writing, I need it translated. I would never, for any reason, change my alphabet. Even the suggestion makes me furious. "Let's adopt the alphabet of people who watched your people die while they debated what the "just right" amount of aid is."
